CRUSH

Pablo Little

20.05.23 - 19.06.23

CRUSH

Pablo Little

20.05.23 - 19.06.23

Visceral infatuations of wild spirits, instantaneous, deep and passing infatuations like a comet. Up to the brim in a second, of people, objects and situations.

How much ink and paper used in history thanks to “falling in love” as a guide for the pen, the great muse of all times. Addictive drug for poets, food for creators.

“The sky opened my heart and you came in faster than a bullet and with the precision of a plastic surgeon’s scalpel” *.

Nothing as wild as her impulse, nothing as genuine as that instant, a crush. CRUSH speaks to us of what it means to collide with the unexpected, to break in a second and let it enter you, to allow it to invade you and to give yourself unconditionally and irremediably to it.

A series of facts and actions decorate daily life, precious events, glances or a sort of signs that speak to us and connect us with the charm of the situations, our heart withdraws and receives all the beauty of those moments. Indeed, “light changes things” and the way of observing is the starting point.

Pablo Little uses this innate quality to mold everything that has touched his soul. Intense fleeting moments of love, heartbreak, experiences and learning that make him the true “surgeon” of the crushes, seeking to recreate that feeling, however small or large it may be, and give it its rightful place in the world.

Porous as mud, he shows us his fascination for everything that surrounds him, making corporeal each of those “affections”, giving life to that immensity of moments, conversations or people. An atypical work full of experiences and processes where the game is always present and where “Crush” also becomes one of the sounds of the intimacy of the studio. The virtues and misfortunes of creation in the same word, eternal or fragile, we survive everything preconceived and embrace with illusion what is to come and what is to come.

“Sculpture consists not in the mere carving of a thing, but in the carving of its effect.” John Ruskin sg.XIX

An impact generated by an impulse, an effect product of an affection, of rivers of ink, paint and mud for everything that invades our hearts at the first glance, two centuries ago, now and a thousand years from now …, CRUSH will still be here.
